You are not alone and I have said little to anyone outside my family though I could say much, especially since I have ties to the same areas and even further back, right back to the 1750's and 60's in Swnaton, Dunham, Lower Coos and elsewhere. I even have the original Abenaki family names at Dunham-Swanton, as well as the at The Oxbow at Lower Coos and some other lines.

I always wondered as to why when there was a ruckus in Danville (before the Town Hall burned in one of the many mysterious Town Hall fires of the time and the records of the town were lost) that certain families lined up with others against some others why the inicident was known around the area.

I now know why, from your remarks, the Woodward/Woodard family was aligned with my father's family, the Knight's, Gear-Giguere, Caswell, Tanner's, the Silsby's, Drown's and several other families on a list that I have that I got from the old Town of Danville Board of Selectmen, the Town Constable and some others. The details are sketchy but it was a real nasty situation at the time.

Also, your remarks no give me the clue as to why and how the Eugenics people went after my father and the family right after he and my mother  married in 1937 (on June 01, 1937 in Derby, Orleans County, Vermont); because this Eugenics lady picked up on my family from the alignment of families in the ruckus in Danville.

August 02, 2006 Obituary for Minnie Florence (nee: Davidson) Knight: White River Junction-Minnie F. Knight, 59, died yesterday, August 01, 2006, at Brookside Nursing Home in White River Junction, Vermont. She was born in Harlingen, Texas on December 20, 1946, a daughter of A. B. Davidson and Bernice (Clark) Davidson. She grew up and attended school in San Benito, Texas, On December 24, 1963, she was married to Howard F. Knight, Jr. She traveled throughout the United States and Europe while he was in the service. They settled in Thetford in 1979, and moved to northern Vermont in 1988. They were divorced in 1997. Mrs. Knight moved back to the Upper Valley in September, and lived most recently in White River Junction. Through her many years away from Texas, she remained close to her family there, especially her mother and sisters. She was predeceased by her father and by her step-father, Eck Ameson. She is survived by her mother, Bernice Ameson of Rosharon, Texas; two daughters, Roberta Knight of Fairlee and Sheila Blandin of Vershire; to sons, Franklin Knight of North Carolina and Matthew Knight of Bennington, Vt.; three grandsons; two sisters, Joanne Hignight and Karen Cockrell, both of Rosharon; a brother, Billy Gene Davidson of Amigo, West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

Obituary of Marrion Corabelle (nee: Cook) Knight - Johnson of West Fairlee, Vermont dated February 19, 2008 published in the Nashua Telegraph newspaper: Marion Corabelle Johnson, 88, died February 18, 2008 at Hanover Terrace Health Care in Hanover, New Hampshire. She was born May 11, 1919 in Norwich, Vermont, the daughter of Homer and Marion (nee: Waterman) Cook. She graduated from Hanover High School Class of 1936. She worked for a time at the Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Hanover. She was married to Howard Knight. They lived in Connecticut during World War II, they then returned to East Thetford and bought a farm. They were later divorced. She then married Thurman L. Johnson and continued to farm in East Thetford until 1968 when they moved to West Fairlee and farmed poultry and other livestock until retiring. Mrs. Johnson was a former member of the Unversity Grange in Norwich. She also was a volunteer at the Bugbee senior Center in White River Junction, Vermont. She enjoyed hand weaving and crafts. She was a published short story author and enjoyed nature and craft magazines. She was an animal lover, especially horses. She is predeceased by her husband, Thurman Johnson, a daughter, Cora Mae Webre; and a grandson. She is survived by two sons, Luther D. Johnson and wife Penny of Wilder, and Howard F. Knight Jr. of Newport Center, VT; a daughter, Ida Jane Michaud and husband Royal of Hudson, N.H.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Orleans Family Clerk's Office, Constance Daigle, Clerk. "The Orleans Family Court hereby issues the following findings with regard to the above captioned matter as follows:

1. Notice, residence, and marriage are proven, as well as the factual circumstane that the parties have lived seperate and apart, within the meaning of the statute, for a period in excess of six consecutive months, and that reputation of marital relations is not reasonably probable.

2. That the parties are the adoptive parents of one minor child, Matthew Knight, age 7.

3. That a property agreement, hereby incorporated herein by reference, has been entered into by both of the parties knowingly and voluntarily.

4. As to Mr. Knight, he makes the property agreement referred to in Paragraph 2 with the advice and assistance of his attorney.

5. The parties are entering into the agreement knowing the effects of the agreement upon them.

6. The Court recognizes that both parties love the child, that they have both served as the adoptive parents of the child when the biological parents, that is, the primary parents, given their circumstances, were incapable of serving as the minor child's parents.

11. Vermont is the home state of the minor child and shall continue to exercise jurisdiction in the matter of the child's future interests.

COURT ORDER

Based ont he findings, the Court makes the following order:

1. A decree of divorce is granted, to become effective June 17, 1997.

2. The court orders the parties to abide by the property agreement entered into on the date of the final divorce hearing, March 19, 1997, and incorporated herein by reference.

3. Minnie Knight shall have until June 17, 1997, to vacate the premises and obtain a seperate residence.

4. Primary physical and legal custody of the minor child shall be entrusted to Howard Knight, subject to the right of Minnie Knight nee: Davidson to see and visit the child and to have the child with her for visits at all....

6. Minnie Knight nee: Davidson shall promptly return the child to Howard Knight's primary custody at the end of every scheduled visit.

7. Neither party shall permit the child to miss any scheduled school days for any reason, except for illness with medical verification. Whoever has the child must make sure the child attends school.

8. Minnie Knight nee: Davidson shall have the right to access the child's medical and educational records and shall be notified by Howard Knight, at Minnie Knight nee: Davidson's last known address, of any substantial changes or developments adversely affecting the child, such as health or educational problems or victimization of any crime.

9. It is Howard Knight's obligation to assure that the child, consistent with his best interests, has a positive relationship with Minnie Knight nee: Davidson on an ongoing basis.

10. Any dispute between the parties regarding the interests of Matthew Knight shall be submitted to mediation prior to a return to court.

The reason I am placing this divorce record on this blog is because NO ONE, neither adoptive parent, Howard Franklin Knight, Jr. nor his wife Minnie, nor the Judicial Judge in the matter NOT ONCE mentioned that the parties were of "Abenaki" "Cowasuck" or "Indian" Descent. Why not? IF these two parents of their grandson, were claiming as they have been in other documents in other events and situations, why weren't they claiming they were Cowasuck, from the Clan of this and the Clan of that, Chief this and Senior Advisor of the that?

This letter is issued to allay any concerns that they may have in regards to the leadership of the Coos Peoples during this turbulent period due to the recent meeting in Swanton.
I. Chief Howard F. Knight Jr. (Chief Rushing Water) do hereby declare, in short and sweet terms, that I support Chief Paul W. Pouliot (Chief Spirit Hawk) in whatever decisionis he may make as the new Chief of the Coos, which took effect upon the day of the meeting in Swanton, VT. I am officially retired as Chief, having been Chief for 10 years. It was, and it is, time for new leadership, and it is even clearer now that Chief Spirit Hawk is the leader that the Coos Peoples need at this juncture in its history.
I am still Chief of the Turtle Clans of the Coos People, but I am retired as the Coos Tribal Band Chief. I will be available to Chief Spirit Hawk for advice, if he asks, or whatever else, otherwise I will not speak. I ask all to support the new Coos Chief in all he does.

So, what was Howard Franklin Knight, Jr. up to in creating this document? It appears that his intention (based on subsequent words and actions by him after writing this document) that he was merely ONLY TEMPORARILY handing Paul Wilson Pouliot "the reins" or "Chief" title only UNTIL "the heat left the kitchen". Whereupon Howard Knight, Jr. wanted the alleged "Chieftonship" returned back to him, but then Paul Pouliot got used to the title, and wouldn't give it back, which pissed off Howard F. Knight, Jr., and so in May of 1994 and later in July 1994 Howard F. Knight with the help of Homer St. Francis, Sr., began to create a "smear campaign" against Paul Wilson Pouliot. Or was it all just a collusion between Pouliot and Knight to create yet another Inc. group in Massachusetts, to create the illusion and delusion of a self-created so called Incorporate Abenaki Nation?

As one will see in future documents, this alleged "retirement" of Howard F. Knight Jr. was repeated; again, and again, and again. These "retirement's" are documented factually.

November 02, 1994 The Journal Opinion Page 08: "Perspective on candidates, To the Editor: Many Abenaki and other native Americans, as well as many non-native people living within the ancient Cowasuck-Coos territory of Vermont, have been calling and asking me, as one of the leaders in the Abenaki Nation, to speak out in regards to which of the candidates should be considered by them in upcoming election on Nov. 8 (1994). I must make it clear that I cannot, I will not, and I do not speak as the chief spokesman of the Cowasuck Council of the Abenaki Nation; but I can, I will and I do speak as a registered voter and as a citizen of the state of Vermont. I look at the candidates throughout the ancient Cowasuck-Coos territory of Vermont. I look at them from the perspective of the ancient Abenaki attributes and laws of respect, straight-forward dealings based upon honor, personal integrity and their strength of personal intergrity, plus one of the most important attributes known as simple family oriented values. Governor, Barbara Snelling, Rep.; State Senate, Orange County, Stephen Webster, Rep.; Orange/Caledonia, Julius Canns, Rep. and Robert Ide, Rep. (with reservations); State House, Thetford area, Ruth Dwyer, Rep.; Bradford area, no recommendation; Newbury area, Peter Mallary, Dem.; Barnet/St. Johnsbury area, Leigh Larocque, Rep.; Cabot/Peacham area, Caleb Pitkin, Dem. In Orange County, in the sheriff's campaign, it is like in Caledonia and Essex Counties, no recommendation. With the newest disclosures in the news media, since I am a student of the U.S. Constitution, I would have to say that the use of the sheriff's department for delivery of personal letters and threats, without a court order to back it up, is clearly unconstitutional, as well as a violation of civil rights and political intimidation. "More than 100 Native Americans from throughout New England and eastern Canada gathered here yesterday to share their ancient heritages, practice sacred customs and offer prayers of peace. Sponsored by the National Federation of the Republic of the Sovereign Abenaki Nation, Grand Council of Southern New England, the event brought together representatives of Abenaki councils from across their territory. The Abenaki nation is made up of more than a dozen different East Coast tribes stretching from the Maritime Provinces in Canada south to North Carolina. Yesterday, for the first time ever in Southern New England, the Abenakis gathered at Bethany Congregational Church on Newport Avenue before making a short "unity walk" to a field at Hill Roberts School on Roy Avenue, where traditional ceremonies were held. Along the way, many members of the gathering eagerly shared their reasons for being there. "We're trying to bring an end to the warfare and the fighting," said Rushing Water, who is the chief of the Grand Council of the Cowasuck Tribe, from Vermont. "We're all one nation, and this is part of the healing process to bring us all together, if we don't come together and unify, we're going to lose it all." And while Rushing Water (Howard Franklin Knight Jr) said that unity among the tribes is essential, it is just the first step in bringing about the ultimate answer to their prayers, which is peace among all peoples. "We've got to go beyond all that," he said. "We've got to reach out to all races -yellow, black, white and red-because we've got our children and that is our future." Eagle Warrior of the Sun, a 53-year-old member of the Lakota tribe from Derby, Vt., offered his own spin on the peace issue. Everyone was invited to be blessed with smoke from the fire and enter the sacred circle, where Wildcat, a 69-year-old Micmuc from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia offered a prayer and advice to his kinsmen before a celebration of native dancing. Wildcat admonished his fellow Indians that religion is not just for sacred ceremonies, but for every day of their lives. "Being an Indian is a spiritual ways to conduct our worship. Once you can respect a tree and the ground you walk on like another human being, then we will begin to be human beings" to one another.

BE IT REMEMBERED, that on the 25th day of November, A.D. 1953, Marion C. Knight of Thetford in the County of Orange and State of Vermont, filed in the office of the Clerk of the County Court within and the County of Orange, her libel for divorce against Howard F. Knight then of Rockingham, in the County of Windham and State of Vermont, setting forth therein, in substance, that on the 29th day of May A.D. 1937 at Derby in the County of Orleans and State of Vermont she was lawfully joined in marriage with the said Howard F. Knight by Rev. W.H. May, a Minister of Gospel, then and there duly authorized to solemnize marriage under the laws of the State of Vermont; that the maiden name of the said libellant was Marion Corabelle Cook; and alleging as the cause for divorce, adultry, and praying that for said cause the Court would grant her a bill of divorce from the said Howard F. Knight, all as more fully and at large appears by said original libel for divorce now on file herein. Said cause being duly entered and docketed in said Court, the same is continued to the present term thereof, begun and held at Chelsea on the first Tuesday in June, A.D. 1954, when the libellant comes with her attorneys, Peter P. Plante, Esq. and Fred A. Jones, Esq. of Lebanon, N.H. to prosecute and the libellee enters into a stipulation with said libellant and makes no contest herein and hearing is had on June 2, 1954. Said cause was continued for entry to June 10, 1954.

WHEREUPON, it appearing by plenary proof that the residence of the libellant is in this County and the facts set forst as to adultry are true, it is hereby ordered  adjudged and decreed that the said libellant have a bill of divorce from the said libelle, and the Court makes written order in the words and figures following:

"The above entitled cause came on for hearing before the Orange County Court at Chelsea on June 2, 1954. Present, Holden, P.J., Tilson and Allen, JJ. The libellant appeared in person and by Frederick A. Jones, Esq., by leave of the Court previously granted. The libellee Howard F. Knight did not appear in peson nor by attorney although the record indicates he has counsel of record.

Upon consideration of the evidence received in the cause, it is hereby ORDERED ADJUDGED AND DECREED

1. A divorce is granted to the libellant (Marion Corabelle nee: Cook - Knight) on the ground the libellee (Howard Franklin Knight, Sr.) has committed adultry, Decree nisi.

2. The care and custody of the minor children of the parties, to wit, Howard F. Knight, Jr., Cora M. Knight and Ida J. Knight is decreed to the libellant Marion C. Knight.

3. Exclusive possession and ownership of the farm and buildings of the partiies siutated in Thetford, together with the furniture, furnishings and all the farm equipment, including the 1946 Willeys Jeep automobile, is granted to the libellant, Marion C. Knight, exclusive of the natural rights of the libellee, Howard F. Knight.

4. The libellee, Howard F. Knight, shall have the right to see the minor children of said parties on every other Saturday, and this right shall include his right to take the children with him for the day, or any of them, but they are to be returned to the home premises by sxi o'clock in the evening.

5. The libellee, Howard F. Knight, shall pay to the libellant, Marion C. Knight for the support of said minor children, the sum of Twenty Dollars per week.

Theos, Jr. Derry (N.H.) - Miss Ida Jane Knight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard F. Knight of 13 Terrace street, Nashua, became the bride of Lewis J. Theos, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis J. This Application for Membership by Howard F. Knight Jr. MUST have been filled out in the year 1981, since Franklin W. Knight II was born in April 1966. If Howard Jr. and Minnie's son was born in 1966 and was 15 years old at the time of this document being created, then the time frame for this Application would be in 1981. Later, in Exhibit #33 Howard F. Knight Jr. states that, "he joined the Coos Tribal Band and took my seat on the Tribal Council as a Clan Chief representing my family Clan, in about June or July of 1980". If that were the case, then Franklin Warren Knight II, would have been 14 years and 2 months of age at the time of this Application being filled out by Howard F. Knight Jr., thereby Howard's son would not have been 15 years old.

So, NOW that one has seen and reviewed the Vital Record Documents from 1846 onward through time and pertaining to Ida May (nee: Geer) Knight and her ancestors, and their descendants, DOES ANYONE SEE ANY CONNECTION TO Odanak, or to Pierreville, Quebec, Canada? Does anyone FIND any indication of her being Abenaki, identified or identifying on any level shape or form as such?

When Howard Franklin Knight Jr. came to Vermont "from wherever" Texas he began to "reinvent and re-create himself" based on LIES, DISTORTIONS, DECEPTION, and DECEIT. He knows it, I know it, and now we all know it.

Betting dollars to donuts, Howard Franklin Knight, Jr. was and is lying about his alleged Native Abenaki Cowasuck connection(s) that NEVER existed in the first place! How much more "stories" coming from Howard Franklin Knight, Jr. are just fraudulant made-up "stories" that he self-created over the years since 1979-1980?! I do wonder.

Caledonian-Record Obituary dated shortly after January 15, 1944 regarding the death of Harry Gilbert Geer. "Funeral services for Harry Geer, who passed away at his home on the West Burke road on Jan. 15, were held at the Woods & Trefren parlors on Monday, the Rev. Hugh Thompson officiating. Many friends attended and the floral tributes were very beautiful. Internment was in the family lot at Lyndon Center. Harry Geer was born in Groton, Nov. 25, 1883, the son of Elmer and Ada (Bigelow) Geer. On Nov. 13, 1926 he was united in marriage to Miss Vera Little of Laconia, N.H., who survives him. To this union were born two children, both dying in infancy. Surviving relatives besides the widow are a sister, Mrs. Estella King, of Massachusetts, a brother, Clayton Caswell of Chester Depot, a half-brother, Maurice Caswell of the Lake Road, a half-sister, Mrs. Gerald Tanner of Lyndon Center, an uncle, Lorenzo Arthur Bigelow of Lebanon, N.H., and several nieces and nephews. Harry had lived on the West Burke road since 1902, and for many years operated a truck team in Lyndonville and vicinity. His health began to fail and he has not been able to do any work for the past two years.

Vera Dare (nee: Little) Geer was born in Laconia, Belknap County, New Hampshire to Romie Orrin Little (who was born in Mt. Silo, Mississippi. She was the wife of Harry Myron (or Gilbert) Geer, and color was identified as "White." Informant was Mrs. Ethel Shaw.
